AUVSI 2013: USN reveals UCLASS development path

The programme manager for the US Navy’s Unmanned Carrier Launched Airborne Surveillance and Strike (UCLASS) programme has announced that a draft RfP will be launched in September in anticipation of a final draft next year.

RADM Mat Winter said that the final RfP for the future carrier-based ISTAR UAS is expected to be released after an industry day at the end of the year that will work to assess requirements.
