AUVSI 2013: Sikorsky goes public with 'Matrix'
Sikorsky has officially introduced its latest unmanned research and development (R&D) programme, the Matrix autonomous technology demonstrator, at the Association of Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) exhibition.
However, the company admitted that it is already half-way through the four year programme, which aims to develop a concept that will provide larger VTOL platforms with OPV capability.
Speaking to Shephard at the exhibition in Washington, D.C on 12 August, Chris Van Buiten, VP of Sikorsky Innovations R&D, described how the programme includes fly-by-wire flight controls and high levels of redundancy.
