AUSA 2019: Qinetiq takes control with new robot controller

QinetiQ North America has shown its new high-definition universal controller (UC-HD) for the first time at AUSA 2019. The UC-HD is a device with a 1080p resolution 10" screen and is designed for vehicle and dismounted operations.

The device is designed for use with larger unmanned vehicles and sensors. It is the controller for the US Army Route Clearance and Interrogation System (RCIS), for which Qinetiq was awarded a $44 million contract in August 2018. RCIS combines a High Mobility Engineering Excavator with Qinetiq's applique robotic kit and UC-HD and deliveries are underway.
