Al Seer Marine, Rafnar team for USVs
Al Seer Marine has signed a cooperation agreement with Iceland’s Rafnar to collaborate on USV technologies.
The companies will initially work to convert Rafnar’s Embla RHIB platform into a manned/unmanned surface vessel.
Rafnar’s ÖK Hull technology, which has been designed to reduce wave slamming impact on vessel hull by up to 95%, will also be applied to Al Seer Marine vessels.
Additionally, Al Seer Marine will carry out subcontract builds for Rafnar in Abu Dhabi under the Al Seer Marine license.
Lee Drinkwater, head of business development and strategy, Al Seer Marine, said: ‘We are delighted to have signed this strategic cooperation agreement with the marine industry disruptors Rafnar and look forward to a long-standing collaboration.’
