Airshow China: UAV development shows few signs of abating

A regular feature at the biennial Airshow China is the wide range of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) on show. 

The latest event, held from 11-16 November in Zhuhai, was no different and a number of UAV types were shown in conceptual model form, while there were several operational types on show. 

Most prominent was the Wing-Loong 1 unmanned combat air vehicle (UCAV) in People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) markings. 

However, alongside a Wing-Loong 1, the Chengdu Aircraft Design and Research Institute (CADI) also showed its new Nimble-Loong, a much smaller design.
