AeroVironment enhances Puma range
The Puma UAS product line from AeroVironment is being enhanced with a new smart battery and bungee launch system (BLS), the US company announced on 11 August.
The Puma Smart 2500 Battery adds almost 20% to the flight time of Puma LE by almost 20% with up to 6.5 hours of endurance, delivering longer time on station, greater range, and maximizing its multi-mission capabilities
Compatible with the Puma 2 AE, Puma 3 AE and Puma LE models, the BLS allows for assisted launch of these UAVs in environmental conditions where hand launch is not practical or is limited. The lightweight and portable all-environment system can be set up and operational in less than 10 minutes, AeroVironment claims.
‘These two new enhancement options will expand our customers’ operational capabilities, while maximising operator safety and improving operational efficiency, allowing them to focus on the mission at hand,’ said Rick Pedigo, VP sales and business development for AeroVironment.
