Aerosonde HQ small footprint, big travels

Textron Systems has demonstrated its Aerosonde hybrid quad (HQ) SUAS variant in front of existing and prospective customers from the military and commercial sectors.

The HQ application when applied to the Aerosonde SUAS fixed-wing enables vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) capabilities of a multi rotor platform. The top speed is up to 65kt with an eight hour endurance and 4.5kg of payload capacity.

David Phillips, VP of small and medium endurance UAS, explained to Shephard the progress of the system and its current relationship with the market.
