AECOM wins NSWC support order
AECOM has been awarded a task order to provide support services for the US Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Dahlgren division, the company announced on 26 August.
Under the $45 million task order, AECOM will provide engineering and technical support services for a one-year base period with four one-year option periods. It will continue to provide design, development and engineering services to support the production of new, advanced radar systems for the navy and marine corps.
AECOM supports the radar systems division of the NSWC in developing advanced dual-band, multi-function and missile defence radar systems, along with ground/air task-oriented radar systems for marines.
The company will model, analyse, test and evaluate all sustainable, functional, electrical and mechanical performance aspects of tactical fire control radars. It will also provide software experts to design, develop and manage tactical computer programmes for supporting domestic and international defence missions.
Additionally, AECOM will provide radar performance modelling and simulations; systems integration; programme management; at-sea and field testing; and networks, communications, safety, security, mission and systems engineering services.
Randy Wotring, president of management services group, AECOM, said: 'Our team provides a unique and skilled set of subject matter experts to support the NSWC’s Dahlgren Division. We are excited to have been chosen as a prime contractor and look forward to continuing our partnership with the US Navy under this task order.'
