A new multi-mission Surface Combatant Training Facility for the USN is to be built in Jacksonville, Florida.
Brantley Construction Services is leading construction of the 50,000ft2 (4,650m2) facility, under a $16.4 million contract from Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command.
Existing training infrastructure leased by the USN will also be modified.
The Surface Combatant Training Facility will include training classrooms, briefing and debriefing rooms, training shops and office spaces.
Work will be completed by January 2022, the DoD announced on 17 February.
