US renews combat training system support contract for allies
Cubic Defense Applications is to continue logistics support on its P5 Combat Training System (CTS) for multiple non-US customers, under a new $193.3 million contract from the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center.
The previous CTS contract for Cubic expired on 20 July.
Work will be performed in San Diego and is expected to be completed in September 2027, the DoD noted in a 10 September announcement.
FMS customers in this contract include Australia, Egypt, Morocco, Oman, Poland, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and the UK.
P5 CTS is the USAF and USN programme of record for Autonomous Air Combat Manoeuvring Instrumentation (AACMI) systems.
The system is embedded within the F-35 and Eurofighter Typhoon programmes.
P5 CTS is expected to be supported by the USAF until 2030, when it is scheduled to be succeeded by the Secure Live, Virtual and Constructive Advanced Training Environment (SLATE).
