The British Army is currently undertaking a Collective Training Sustainment (CTS) review that is designed to amalgamate the support systems of the Combined Arms Tactical Trainer (CATT), the Command and Staff Trainer (CAST) and Tactical Engagement Simulation (TES) assets. If successful, other training systems may follow.
The UK MoD’s Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) organisation says that: ‘CTS seeks to achieve efficiencies that lead to greater flexibility and better value for money outcomes. Current spend on support to the Collective Training Environment (CTE) is £38 million annually.’
