UFA delivers ATTower tower simulator to Fort Huachuca
UFA has delivered its ATTower tower simulator to the US Army Fort Huachuca’s Libby Army Airfield, the company announced on 19 July.
UFA was awarded the contract with Fort Huachuca in December 2017. Subsequently, the company received an order to upgrade the visual system to a seven-channel configuration.
The company has delivered four-channel ATTower simulator, complete with the local Libby Army Airfield airport visual database and five additional airport visual databases.
The system includes ATVoice voice recognition system and ATView image generator and can integrate with other aviation and Air Traffic Control (ATC) simulation platforms. The ability to integrate will allow Libby ATC to conduct comprehensive collective training.
Libby Army Airfield serves as a joint mission between civil and military customers and functions as the preeminent UAS testing and training centre for the US Army. Integration between manned and unmanned systems presents special training requirements in the certification of ATCs.
The simulator at Libby Army Airfield supports the full range of these special requirements and will be a training tool for both civilian and military operations.
