Typhoon synthetic training in Germany gains cockpit refresh
Airbus Defence and Space has chosen Germany-based Reiser Simulation and Training (RST) to provide new high-fidelity cockpits for the Eurofighter Typhoon Pilot Synthetic Training System (PSTS).
Airbus, as PSTS lead contractor, is extending the service life of the system for the German MoD.
RST will supply two cockpits to Laage as the training capability there doubles to four simulators. The company is also replacing ten simulator cockpits at other Eurofighter bases in Germany (Neuburg, Nörvenich, Wittmund, and the Airbus Central Integration Facility in Manching).
All cockpit replicas will be equipped with a full suite of cockpit displays and control panels including a newly developed fully functional HUD.
‘They will also comprise RST´s g-seat motion cueing system, simulated anti-g inflation system as well as breathing air system (SAGS),’ the company announced on 12 October.
