Tactile aids assist P-8 maintenance training
Maintenance training for the P-8 is being assisted for students because they are now able to get their hands on replica components of the aircraft instead of just relying on theory from training manuals.
At the P-8 maintenance training facility in Jacksonville, Florida, prospective maintenance crew members are undertaking vigorous training methods from the publication to physical interaction.
At the facility, there are seven virtual maintenance trainers, which allow students to visualise the aircraft and then play out realistic scenarios under the supervision of their instructors.
