Sweden selects Grob 120TP as new basic trainer
Swedish defence procurement agency FMV has signed a contract with Germany’s Grob Aircraft to deliver seven Grob 120TP aircraft plus options, along with a ground-based training system (GBTS) and support equipment.
The Grob 120TP will be used for basic training and is expected to be ready for training at Malmen Airbase near Linköping in mid-2024 alongside the GBTS, which comprises a fixed-base flight training device and computer-based training (CBT).
According to Shephard Defence Insight, seven countries operate a total of 129 Grob 120TP aircraft.
