Sweden orders Saab CBRN test kits
Saab will begin delivering chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) test kits with advanced indication equipment to the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency in September 2016, it announced on 8 June.
Saab’s CBRN solutions include sampling equipment, systems for Automatic Warning and Reporting, certified transport packaging, and CBRN training and support solutions for individual protection. The CBRN sampling equipment includes over 300 different items for forensic sampling.
The test kits will provide tools for CBRN specialists and decision-makers to detect and identify various threats. The users will also receive the required support, and Saab will help in the organisation of evaluating and integrating CBRN defence capabilities. The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency is tasked with developing capabilities for accident and disaster prevention and relief.
Nils-Erik Lindblom, director, marketing and sales, CBRN, Saab, said: ‘The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency has previously purchased our certified transport containers, and after winning an EU procurement, we’ve now signed a general agreement to supply a total of 27 kits with advanced test equipment to the agency in the large metropolitan areas. The agreement also includes the purchase of related consumables.’
