Saab has received an order to expand Poland's General Tadeusz Kosciuszko Military University of Land Forces’ (AWL's) fully-instrumented, Gamer laser-based training capability (LSS), the company announced on 11 October.
The new laser tactical simulator (LTS) will support AWL to increase the number of participants in exercises and functionalities of its current Gamer live training system. The significant new functionality is the addition of the BT46 – a ballistic simulator that replicates weapon and ammunition parameters, time of flight, velocity, trajectory and impact point of a simulated projectile.
AWL acquired the first Gamer system in 2016 for land force and territorial defence force training. Both the existing LSS and the new LST systems offer AWL full interoperability with key training partners of Poland in NATO using a number of laser and radio interfaces.

This type of tool provides more realistic training easing the incorporation of new scenarios that accurately represent the threats of the battlefield.
The Engineering Corps has been conducting individual instruction using FLAIM Systems’ Sweeper and should start collective deployments in 2025.
The next-generation platform is motion-compatible and can be used in OTW and NVG applications.
The system can be used to prepare soldiers for both drone offensive operations and CUAS missions.
