Offshore oil and gas helicopter support specialists, Thai Aviation Services (TAS), has started Sikorsky S-92 pilot training at the CAE Multi-Purpose Training Centre (MPTC) in Brunei.

The initial training programme sees TAS contracted for 250 hours of dry training with the company providing its own instructor pilots. The first pilots began training on 27 January 2018.

The MPTC, located in Rimba, is jointly owned with the Government of Brunei holding a 40% equity and CAE the remaining 60%.

TAS will undertake its training using a CAE-built S-92 Full Flight and Mission Simulator (FFMS) that features an eight-channel Medallion-6000 image generator.
