First test flights of Mi-28UB
The Russian Army Aviation has successfully completed the first test flights of the new Mi-28UB combat training helicopter, the Russian Ministry of Defence announced on 5 July.
The tests were conducted at an airfield in the Krasnodar Territory, Southern Russia.
During the test flight, the helicopter completed take-offs, landings and flights at altitudes of up to 1000m. The helicopter’s flight and manoeuvring characteristics at various speeds, and the operation of helicopter systems and mechanisms under loads and overloads, were checked.
The helicopter can perform flight training and flying crew training tasks. At the next training stage, the new helicopters will perform fire training tasks in the Kuban combat ranges.
