RSAF helicopter simulators set for upgrade
Quantum3D will work with AVC Defense to upgrade training devices for the Royal Saudi Air Force's Bell 412 helicopter, the company announced on 17 April.
The upgrade and modernisation work will extend the service life of the Unit Training Device. Work will include replacement of the simulator host computer, new visual system including image generator and displays, and updated visual database, instructor/operator station and audio system.
The existing cockpit displays and controls will also be rewired, tested and refitted. The visual system upgrade will feature Quantum3D’s IDX 80 Image Generator running MANTIS.
