Cubic tailors mortar simulator for the US Army
The company’s mortar trainer received improvements based on soldier’s feedback.
The first of four leased King Air KA350 aircraft has been certified for use by the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF), the New Zealand Ministry of Defence announced on 10 May.
The new aircraft will replace the B200 fleet, providing the RNZAF with a new domestic multi-engine pilot training capability.
Currently, air warfare officers complete specialist training for the P-3K2 Orion and C-130 Hercules in Australia. The new fleet will enable training to be completed in New Zealand, encompassing navigation, flight planning, mission management and communications.
Two of the four aircraft will be configured to assist in maritime surveillance tasks across New Zealand’s exclusive economic zone.The remaining three aircraft will be delivered through 2019, with air warfare officer training to begin this year.

This type of tool provides more realistic training easing the incorporation of new scenarios that accurately represent the threats of the battlefield.
The Engineering Corps has been conducting individual instruction using FLAIM Systems’ Sweeper and should start collective deployments in 2025.
The next-generation platform is motion-compatible and can be used in OTW and NVG applications.
The system can be used to prepare soldiers for both drone offensive operations and CUAS missions.
