RAFO adds F-16 training capability

The Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) is to receive additional F-16 training equipment to reflect upgrades to its F-16C/D Block 50 fleet.

Under the US FMS mechanism, the simulation business unit of L3Harris Technologies (formerly Link Training and Simulation) is to supply F-16 training simulation and support solutions that will include a ‘simulator and egress trainers’.

RAFO received its first 12 F-16C/Ds in 2005-06 under the Peace A’sama A’safiya programme and these were supported by a Link Full Mission Trainer that was delivered in 2007.

Twelve aircraft in a second tranche were delivered in 2014 as part of Peace
