New AKM-patterned training rifle plugs a gap
US-based Centre Firearms Co has released the first dedicated 5.56x45mm FX AKM-patterned training rifle.
The company has a primary focus on armourer and training classes to support realistic training scenarios for the law enforcement and military communities, but this rifle is its first product specifically for the defence sector.
The AKM designation denotes a modernised variant of the Kalashnikov AK-47 assault rifle.
A unique feature of the new semi-automatic AKSIMS rifle is that it is chambered in a 5.56x45mm FX (Simunition FX System), allowing departments and courses to have interchangeable FX ammunition for the training systems in use.
