Finland acquires MASA SWORD
Constructive training company MASA Group has signed what it terms a ‘major contract’ with the Finnish Defence Forces (FDF) for its SWORD C2 training system, following a competitive bid process.
The FDF will use SWORD for training command post crews at battalion and brigade level. Initially deployed to its staff training centre within the National Defence University in Helsinki, Paris-based MASA said that the system ‘will be extended to several sites in Finland’ to provide networked, distributed command post exercises (CPX).
Typically, the Helsinki site oversees around 20 CPX training exercises every year, each typically lasting for five days.
