Czech Army adds TESS capabilities

Soldiers of the 71st Mechanized Battalion based at Hranice have tested the latest tranche of laser-based Tactical Engagement Simulation Systems (TESS) delivered by Saab Training Systems.

With the new upgraded TESS, the Czech Army and the military police will receive additional capabilities and functionalities.

The order includes upgrades of the existing system; new key functions within soldier-equipped training systems; vehicle-based systems with ballistic and real time of flight simulation; and training solutions for urban terrain.

The recent tests took place on the Libava training area and used equipment that was part of a $13 million contract that was signed in
