Added training to meet USMC Force Design 2030

The US Marine Corps (USMC) is well on the way to defining a new structure under the terms of its Force Design 2030 vision according to its Commandant, Gen David H. Berger (pictured).

Speaking last week at the virtual Modern Day Marine conference, he said: ‘We are preparing for an operational environment [that we will encounter] a decade from now, [but] we are not organised, trained or equipped for what is going to happen in the future [as we] transition from a ground to a littoral force.’

Berger explained that the changes currently being studied would not entail extra funding,
