P1AR to provide hoist training for USCG
Priority 1 Air Rescue (P1AR) has received a contract from the US Coast Guard to provide hoist operator training for flight mechanic aircrew operating the MH-65 D/E and MH-60T helicopters.
P1AR will provide instructor led ab-initio to advanced level helicopter hoist operator training. The contract has an up to five-year period of performance and will engage approximately 475-500 students.
Coast guard flight mechanics will participate in ground school instruction, practice with coast guard specific SAR equipment and complete hoist procedural tower and synthetic training using a virtual hoist simulator at the P1AR Search and Rescue Tactical Training Academy in Mesa Arizona.
The customised training solution will include eLearning and computer-based training, training guides and workbooks, interactive learning, and student training information management systems and support.
To address the broad spectrum of coast guard SAR mission requirements, P1AR will incorporate its instructional design approaches and standardised training modalities along with its simulation system. The virtual hoist simulator will provide course participants the ability to complete mission-specific hoist and SAR evolutions in operationally relevant environments.
