French simulation JV forms
France-based CMI Defence SAS and simulation firm SILKAN have formed a joint venture (JV) for land forces simulation and training, called AGUERIS, the two companies announced on 28 May.
AGUERIS will offer tactical and technical training simulation solutions for land forces and develop new products in simulation and modelling.
The companies have already been working to develop, design and deploy a new turret crew training simulator solution. This collaboration has resulted in a turret embedded training simulation solution that uses real equipment linked to an instructor station as a simulator.
Jean-Luc Maurange, executive president, CMI Defence, said: 'AGUERIS will enable CMI Defence to remain present alongside our customers, throughout the lifecycle of our products, with a comprehensive and competitive range of products and services associated with our weapon systems portfolio.'
François Guérineau, CEO and chairman, SILKAN, said: 'The alliance with an industry group the size of CMI Defence will allow to maintain the lead already acquired by SILKAN’s team in the field of land forces simulation, offering a range of reference products internationally. Technological partnership with AGUERIS will strengthen SILKAN’s position on its own markets, especially simulation and training solutions for aeronautics.'
