MilSim Asia: Compusult enhances WES
Compusult has released a number of new enhancements and capabilities for its Web Enterprise Suite (WES), to enhance the way military users can access, manage, store, and share geospatial data.
WES is an integrated open standards-based suite of applications designed to provide geospatial data discovery, fusion, visualisation, sharing and collaboration within a comprehensive, interoperable, geospatial data management system.
The system's new content search and discovery component, Global Search, provides a sub-system capable of connecting users with geospatial and non-geospatial information and data located either locally and/or federated. Cloud-ready for big data management requirements, Global Search includes discovery and access to real-time or historical sensor data.
The new WES Portfolio Manager (PM) has been added to provide extensive management and information sharing associated with actual or simulated incidents and events.
The PM tracks and manages content within user-defined missions, events, and incidents by aggregating remote sensing data, imagery, videos, audio, documents, and social media. It is optimised to support situational views that organise and display content from disparate data sources and applications for a particular area of interest or topic.
Other new capabilities include WES SensorHub, a new component that provides an open and unified way to interconnect sensors and Internet of Things devices, data, and applications; and GO Mobile, a mobile component that gives soldiers and first responders the ability to discover, access, share, and manage mission critical geospatial data and services through secure wireless communications, even in disconnected environments.
WES is being continuously developed to meet the growing demands of organisations seeking improved decision making through better access to information.
