Cubic tailors mortar simulator for the US Army

Meggitt Defense Systems has been awarded a $48.5 million contract for the US Army’s Aerial Weapons Scoring System (AWSS) enhancement programme.
This so-called hybrid contract (cost-plus-fixed-fee and firm-fixed-price) includes development, production, field operations support, installation support, training, cyber security support, systems and spares production and repairs.
AWSS is an objective scoring system designed to support US Army aviation gunnery training and crew qualification. The initial AWSS requirement was published in 1994 since when new and improved systems have been fielded in the continental US, Germany and Japan.
