Meggitt qualifies for US Army training programme
Meggitt Training Systems has been named as one of five companies qualified to fulfil a US Army combat skills training programme for US military and allied soldiers, the company announced on 17 April 2018.
The other companies named include Saab Defense and Security, Strategic Systems, Sius Target Systems and Theissen Training Systems.
Individual contracts for the $125 million Army Targetry Systems programme will be awarded over the next five years, with an estimated completion date of March 2023. US Army Contracting Command of Warren, Michigan, will administer the programme.
Jon Read, live-fire systems director at Meggitt, said: ‘We believe our track record at US Army training ranges at home and abroad makes us the ideal choice for the next generation of live-fire targets.’
Meggitt Training Systems has fielded over 75,000 infantry target systems on 122 military bases around the world.
