International F-35 FFS deliveries begin
Lockheed Martin has delivered F-35 Full Mission Simulators to the Israel, Italian, Japanese and Norwegian air forces, the company announced on 6 November.
The simulators will provide pilot training at F-35 operating bases in the four countries, including pilot qualification training, continuation training and mission rehearsal training.
The simulators will be complemented by courseware, curriculum and an aircraft systems maintenance trainer.
Lockheed Martin personnel will assist with operations and maintenance of the simulators in-country for these international partners. They provide training in support of scenario creation to achieve tactical training objectives and ensure the simulators are mission ready.
Lockheed Martin is currently preparing for full-rate production on the F-35 programme. Pilot and maintenance trainers are to be delivered to additional international customers beginning in 2018.
