Leonardo has announced it will be offering its T-100 integrated training system for the US Air Force $16 billion T-X competition.
Only a fortnight ago it was revealed that Raytheon and Leonardo would no longer jointly bid on the programme. Soon after Northrop Grumman and BAE Systems said that they will not be submitting a bid for the aircraft requirement.
Until 8 February, with Leonardo outlining its revised offering, it was looking to be a two-horse race with Lockheed Marin/KAI in a battle for the contract against Boeing/Saab.
