L3 receives training contract from USAF
L3 Technologies has received a contract to continue providing training to the US Air Force’s B-2 aircraft pilots, maintainers and weapons-loading personnel, the company announced on 5 February.
Under the $120 million contract, L3 will deliver the training using its B-2 aircrew training system, to fulfil pilot training requirements and to train and certify weapons-loading crew members.
Training will be conducted at the 509th Bomb Wing, Whiteman Air Force Base (AFB), in Missouri. In addition, the L3 Training Systems Support Center located at Whiteman AFB will provide on-site engineering support.
Lenny Genna, president of L3 Link Training & Simulation, said: ‘L3 is dedicated to ensuring that all air force B-2 personnel receive the best training they can for their critical and unique missions. Over three-plus decades, we’ve continually enhanced our solution based on direct feedback from the operators. We value our strategic relationship with the air force and are committed to offering world-class training for years to come.’
