L-15 trainer advances worldwide
The People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) is now operating the tandem-seat JL-10 trainer, which is also known as the L-15 Falcon under its export nomenclature, it appears from images circulating on the Chinese internet since 8 September.
There is speculation that the Hongdu Aviation Industry Group (HAIG) may also develop a carrier version of the twin-turbofan L-15. However, this would require a strengthened rear fuselage with tail hook able to bear the brunt of arrested landings on a carrier deck.
