ITEC 2016: Visual upgrades continue at MSHATF

In the 2010 Strategic Defence and Security Review (SDSR), the UK MoD stated that it wanted to conduct 50% of its future training in the synthetic domain. To achieve this figure requires a highly realistic and resolute visual scene.

At RAF Benson, home of the CAE Aircrew Training Services Medium Support Helicopter Aircrew Training Facility (MSHATF), the company is in the process of upgrading four of the six Dynamic Mission Simulators (DMS) with its own Medallion 6000 image generator (IG) running a Common Database (CDB) formatted database.
