I/ITSEC 2018: Technology trends (video)
Shephard speaks with business leaders at I/ITSEC 2018 to understand what is motivating and influencing technology trends in the military and simulation market.
Rockwell Collins has launched the latest version of its Griffin integrated visual display system designed for fast-jet pilot training.
Griffin-2 features a non-faceted, 360° field-of-view, rear-projected display that can accommodate a range of different projector types. The benefit, said Rockwell Collins, is that when integrated with ultra-high definition projectors, Griffin-2 provides ‘optimal fidelity, resolution, and a lower acquisition and life-cycle cost compared to other systems’.
The current Griffin display is best known as part of the F-35 Lightning II ground based training system but it is also used as part of training systems for the F-16, Typhoon, and M-346 Master.
