I/ITSEC 2017: US acquisition strategy comes into question

Acquisition strategy has been high on the agenda at this year’s I/ITSEC with the services looking into innovative ways to make the process faster when it comes to training.

The US Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) is embarking on a capability based acquisition strategy that will look to do exactly this.

One of the current issues currently being faced by the military is that once new platforms are introduced the necessary training can sometimes lag behind. 

‘Operators want to be able to use the full extent of the capability on day one,’ highlighted VAdm Paul Grosklags, commander at NAVAIR.
