I/ITSEC 2017: Rockwell brings displays to F-16 training

Rockwell Collins has been selected by Lockheed Martin to provide display systems to two undisclosed international F-16 training programme customers.

The F-16 solution will include a customised configuration of Rockwell Collins’ Griffin rear-prjection dome and SpectraView display systems.

The Griffin dome is also used on the F-35 Lightning II and Aermacchi M-346 out-the-window display programmes. The display system became part of Rockwell Collins’ portfolio following the acquisition of SEOS Displays back in 2008.

For the F-16 project, the 360-degree Griffin rear-projection dome configuration will include an expanded ingress and egress system to accommodate the larger cockpit of an F-16 and
