Saab's recent European contracts to upgrade training facilities are giving the company a chance to tap into new markets in Eastern Europe.

The company was awarded a contract in October to upgrade the Bulgarian armed forces’ combat training centre (CTC) worth $1.7 million. The CTC is a mobile unit built for small company-level training.

‘Bulgaria is important to enable us to establish a market in eastern Europe,’ said Hans Lindgren, head of marketing, training and simulation at Saab.

The Bulgarian agreement was awarded under an FMS following the signing of a contract with the US Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation.
