Rockwell Collins has unveiled its new enhanced synthetic training environment, WholeEarth, at this year’s I/ITSEC in Orlando.

The high-resolution complete Earth database enables simulated flight anywhere in the world and combines geospatial imagery with 3D content. This enables detailed imagery from any altitude to be replicated.

‘We are unveiling today, but the official release will be in May 2016, with incremental content added through two releases every year over the next two years. In two years’ time, we will have the imagery for the entire world,’ said Lance Moss, principal product manager, simulation and training solutions at Rockwell Collins.
