The officer responsible for training systems in the US Marine Corps has outlined his vision for training and simulation in the service, including the use of advanced animatronics that mimic human motion and behaviour.

Shephard caught up with Col Walt Yates, programme manager of training systems in Marine Corps System Command, at I/ITSEC to discuss his plans for training and what has caught his eye at the exhibition.
