I/ITSEC 2015: Inside the V-280 simulator (video)
During this year's I/ITSEC show in Orlando, Shephard was given special access to Tru Simulation + Training's V-280 Valor technology demonstrator, which is being developed in conjunction with Textron sister company Bell Helicopter.
Steven Kihara, an ex-military pilot and now Bell Helicopter's flight performance liasion on future vertical lift, showed the special capabilities of the next-generation tilt-rotor aircraft as part of demonstrations throughout I/ITSEC.
Troy Fey, Tru Simulation + Training's VP of business and military simulation also explained to Shephard the unique aspects of the simulator and how it incorporates the real-world flight control laws of the fly-by-wire V-280.
