I/ITSEC 2015: GD improves live fire training

General Dynamics Information Technology has updated its Advanced Live Combat Training System (ALCTS)  following a demonstration last year.

The ALCTS is a system that uses mirrors to reflect a live scene from around a corner. The approaching units will see the reflection and can shoot at the reflection rather than the real actors.

The realism is vastly enhanced as they can still use their actual weapons to fire live ammunition and real people are involved as targets instead of dummies or fake targets, whilst remaining safe. In addition the actors can use blood splatter and vibration packs to simulate being hit to increase
