How the US is preparing to support NATO countries in a war against Russia

US European Command has been repositioning troops and equipment, expanding its prepositioned stockpiles, and conducting additional joint exercises with partners and allies.

Russian territorial ambitions have been impacting the posture of the US in Europe. Washington has been repositioning troops and equipment and expanding its prepositioned stockpiles to support NATO countries should the Kremlin decide to escalate the Ukraine war and attack members of the alliance.

US European Command (USEUCOM) has been also conducting additional combined exercises with partners and allies in the region to prepare troops and systems for joint deployments.
