In mid-2015 the French Army announced that it was adopting a new constructive training system that was to be known as SOULT.

Details have now emerged for the ready for training schedule of SOULT and its use for a major exercise that is planned for later on in the year.

The first deployment will take place at the French Army’s Tactical Training Centre (TTC), part of the Military Training School in Saumur where SOULT will replace the current JANUS constructive training system.

The TTC has two main missions: to provide constructive combined arms training to officers of the Saumur-based Cavalry
