Thales has a long pedigree of developing Air Mission Training Systems (AMTS). The company’s first major success was with the EDITH system for the French Army’s air component (ALAT) and at Farnborough International Airshow (FIA 2016), the company is showing off the latest iteration of its AMTS technology.
Although the AMTS looks like a flight training device, the system is designed to teach tactics and operational procedures in a networked environment compared to the FTD’s role of teaching flight procedures and systems operation.
The benefit of such systems are found not only in the fidelity of the AMTS device itself
