Advanced Redair European Squadron (ARES) recently bought 18 Dassault Mirage 2000s to enrich its aggressor training, representatives of the French company told Shephard.
This marks a major upgrade in capabilities, as the ARES jet fleet currently comprises nine Leonardo MB-339Cs.
ARES said it has received support from Dassault Aviation, Safran and Thales to help prepare for the introduction of the Mirage 2000.
Four of the new aircraft are expected to be delivered in September this year, sourced from an (as yet unnamed) air force operating the Mirage 2000.
