AEgis receives SE Core contract from Leidos
AEgis Technologies has been selected as a subcontractor to Leidos for the US Army’s Synthetic Environment Core (SE Core) programme, the company announced on 25 June.
The five-year, $210 million programme will deliver an interoperable synthetic environment for simulation and training programmes.
Under the contract, AEgis Technologies will develop the Common Moving Models (CM2) for the SE Core programme, will be the primary developer of 3D database models, and will also provide overall management of the programme’s 3D modelling team.
The programme intends to deliver software to enable a common correlated synthetic environment for soliders to train for full spectrum operations. The terrain and model development efforts of the programme will provide non-proprietary, open format and image generator independent synthetic environment deliverables of terrain databases, models and simulation architecture connectivity to meet operational training requirements.
These efforts, linking current and future training devices and simulations, enable the army to execute combined arms and joint training across complex terrain, as well as mission planning and rehearsals at both home station and deployed locations.
