Additional KASI systems for Finland
The Finnish Defence Forces' Logistics Command is set to sign a contract with Saab to procure a Two-sided Combat Simulator System (KASI), the Finnish Ministry of Defence announced on 6 March.
Finland is to acquire two KASI simulators as part of the Finnish defence forces' training simulator development programme. The total value of the procurement and service contract is $8 million.
The KASI system creates realistic battlefield environments to train personnel in combat operations at the company level. The Finnish defence force has been using the KASI system since 2005. By combining the new and old KASI systems, instrumentation training involving up to 2400 participants can be organised.
